You are aware of the horrific event that occurred this past Saturday, where over 30 victims of human trafficking were found in a semi-truck in San Antonio. Ten persons have died because they had no water, and were left in oppressive heat that caused some to suffocate. Texas tree advocates will host a storytime at the Texas Capitol to read Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax under some of the building’s historic oak trees. Following the storytime--which we anticipate will feature lawmakers and special guests reading the book--families and advocates will deliver copies of The Lorax to key Texas legislators to urge them against stripping local governments of their tree preservation rules.
