Freedom Riders Part 2: Created Equal Film Series @ NW Lakeview

Please join us for the screening of “Freedom Riders”, an award winning documentary that tells the story behind a courageous band of civil rights activists called Freedom Riders who in 1961 challenged segregation in the American South. The film, part of our Created Equal Film series, will be shown in the Northeast Lakeview College Performing Arts Theater, on a LARGE screen – part one on February 3 and part two on February 10, 2015, starting at 6:30 p.m. on both days. The screening will be followed by scholar and community panel let conversation about the changing meaning of equality in the United States and the events surrounding the Freedom Riders time period.

Parking is open and the movie is free to the public. Refreshments will be served at 6:00 p.m.
