Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Festival

October 22, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join us Saturday, October 22 during peak Monarch butterfly migration week as we celebrate San Antonio’s unique place in the storied Monarch butterfly migration–right in the middle of the flyway.

Mayor Ivy Taylor signed the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Mayor’s Monarch Pledge in December, making San Antonio the first city in the country to become a Monarch Champion in the national campaign to encourage mayors and local governments to increase Monarch butterfly and pollinator habitat.

Events are FREE and open to the public. Here’s the current schedule:

10 AM People for Pollinators Parade COSTUMES ENCOURAGED

We’ll gather at 9:30 for a migration through the Pearl grounds led by San Antonio’s own Pedaling Pollinators, a butterfly-themed bike troupe orchestrated by the Earn-A-Bike Coop.

11:30 AM Monarch butterfly release and tagging demonstration
1 PM Monarch butterfly release and tagging demonstration
