The purpose of Common Ground is to introduce the public to the many programs San Antonio has to offer that contribute to a sustainable city. This includes environmental as well as community building and health and wellness programs. It is also an opportunity for the people working on sustainable goals here to come together, meet each other, and form relationships for future collaboration.
Our theme this year is Our Past, Present, and Sustainable Future. We hope to promote awareness of the roots of this city, the culture here, and how knowing where we come from is a very important facet of knowing how to become more sustainable together.
We will have a health and wellness area offering sessions from local traditional healers, fun activities for all ages such as bicycling games, face painting, seed bomb making, and potting small plants, awesome wares for sale by local artisans and producers as well as information tables from over 30 different sustainability related organizations and businesses.
Several food trucks will be on hand including the solar powered Jusumungus Truck, Swamp Kitchen, and Sensational Salad Station. Music will be provided by some of San Anto’s best performers on Renewable Republic’s Solar Stage.
Foodies, DIYers, Gardeners, Naturalists, Artists, Activists, Environmentalists, Community Workers, Cyclists, Crunchy Mommas, Healers, Music Lovers, and Everyday Wonderful People, you don’t want to miss this event.
