The Peace Bird Gate at Peace Park in Hanoi celebrates Hanoi’s Millennium. Inaugurated by the Hanoi’s People Committee for the celebration on October 8, 2010, the structure resembles the traditional Vietnamese bird, the Lac Viet bird. Hanoi was recognized in 1999 as a ‘City of Peace’ by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). A twist on the traditional origami Peace Crane form, the modern composition sits in a green public park.
