Friday September 11, after the 6:00pm mass, Vigil in Support of the “100 Women 100 Miles” Pilgrimage, Our Lady of the Guadalupe Church, 1321 El Paso St., San Antonio. Women from San Antonio will form part of the pilgrimage, taking the message of the mothers and children unjustly held in family detention, to Pope Francis during his visit to Washington, D.C. Jorge Durand, Ph.D. is a research professor of anthropology at the University of Guadalajara. His research initiative will consist of comprehensive survey data assembled by the Mexican Migration Project to test the hypothesis that the 1986 U.S. policy of border crackdowns and legalization drives transformed the nature of Mexican immigration to this country in ways the legislators never fully anticipated.
