University Sin Fronteras & SWU‎ : How far have we come? Seminar on the Voting Rights act of 1965

December 18, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Voting Rights Act was a means to overcome a legal barrier that prevented communities of color from voting but 50 years after it was signed into law, efforts are still being made to prevent these same communities from participating and even being counted.

From gerrymandering to new I.D. laws, how far have we come to be active participants in the democratic process?
