Theater: That’s Not Fair ! / ¡ No Es Justo ! Emma Tenayuca’s Struggle for Justice

This full length theater production with live music and dance is adapted for the stage from Carmen Tafolla, Sharyll Teneyuca, and Terry Ybanez’s children’s book of the same title. That’s Not Fair follows the life of Emma Teneyuca from childhood to adulthood in the 1920’s and 30’s as she learns to care deeply about poverty, equality, justice and human dignity. This passionate and true story is sure to educate, inspire, and touch the hearts and minds of audiences. No less a legend in her own time, her story will now come to life and her voice heard again as this production honors a heroic figure in Mexican-American and Texas history.
