The UIW Theatre invites you to Rosmersholm, By Henrik Ibsen, a haunting tale of the struggle between past and future, tradition and progress, responsibility and freedom. At the center of this struggle is the Pastor John Rosmer and his iconoclastic companion Rebecca West.
Rosmer’s family has long been part of the social elite; members of a conservative clan that helps those less fortunate. But recent events have shaken that family to its core. Rosmer’s wife has committed suicide, and Rosmer has begun to question his faith and the hold his family’s traditions have had on him. Rebecca West, his deceased wife’s dearest friend, is attracted to Rosmer. Will Rosmer and Rebecca break free from the past to build a better tomorrow?
Mark Stringham directs Rosmersholm with scenery designed by Christopher McCollum, costumes designed by Margaret Mitchell and lighting designed by Justin Bennett.
