A San Antonio tribute to Maya Angelou: “A Rainbow in our Clouds” is a special celebration of the late Maya Angelou and the city of San Antonio. The event is free and open to the public. The celebration is a collaborative effort featuring Aaronetta Pierce reading from her writings about Angelou, the Arathi Dance Company presenting a choreographed dance depicting “Caged Bird”; selected readings from Maya Angelou’s works will be presented by notable poets including Naomi Shihab Nye, Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson and Darrell Pittman; music and songs by Mariachi Corazón de San Antonio. Program begins at 3 p.m.
