NATIONAL HUNGER AND HOMELESS AWARENESS WEEK November 16-22

Becoming a Culture of Encounter

Mobile Loaves and Fishes, a social outreach ministry that empowers communities into a lifestyle of service with the homeless, invite you to attend a Fall Gathering.

As part of National Hunger and Homeless Awareness week Fr. John Markey will be reflecting on Becoming a Culture of Encounter. A culture of encounter is act of reaching out, fostering dialogue and friendship even outside the usual circles, and making a special point of encountering people who are neglected, ignored, and often forgotten by the wider world. Fr. John Marky, OP, PhD is an associate professor of theology, director of the doctorate in spirituality program at the Oblate School of Theology, and author of Constituting Communion: The Theology of the Constitutions of the Church and Moses in Pharaoh’s House: A Liberation Spirituality for North America.

The gathering will be in Christopher Hall at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks, San Antonio 78261. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 7:00pm. All are welcome.
