Lecture: Historian Andrew Bacevich @ Trinity

November 17, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Historian Andrew Bacevich will share his insights on the intersection of political, military, and economic crises in the United States as part of the Maverick Lecture Series. His new book, Breach of Trust: How Americans Failed Their Soldiers and Their Country, is a blistering critique of the gulf between America’s soldiers and the society that sends them off to war. Bacevich’s bestseller, Washington Rules, is a critique of the country’s military industrial complex. Bacevich is a professor of International Relations and History at Boston University; he previously taught at Johns Hopkins University and at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated in 1969. He holds a doctorate in American diplomatic history from Princeton. With the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War, and has held posts in Germany and the Persian Gulf. He retired as a colonel in the early 1990s. —–

The Maverick Lecture Series is made possible by the William and Salomé Scanlan Foundation. For more information, contact Trinity’s Office of University Marketing and Communications at 210-999-8406. The event is free and open to the public.
