Human Library @UIW

February 8, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

You’ve heard of audio books. You’ve heard of talking books. But have you encountered a Human Library? That’s where human books take reading to a whole new level of interaction. If you’ve ever wished for an opportunity to talk to someone in the middle of a civil rights movement, or transgender transition, or recovery from addiction, you can do it at a Human Library. At a Human Library™ real people are on loan to readers like you, ready to accept your questions about the topics they represent. The University of the Incarnate Word Honors Program will be hosting a Human Library on the main campus Wednesday, February 8, from 4-7pm. The public is welcome to attend and engage in conversation with the 15 human books that will be on hand covering a variety of provocative topics. A complete list of topics is at the website, http://www.uiw.edu/honors/honors-activities/humanlibrary.html. The event is free, and so is parking on the UIW campus.
