Community Dinner and Education Event about Family Detention

May 1, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$15

Detention of children on the sole basis of their migration status of that or their parents is a violation of children’s rights, is never in their best interests, and is not justifiable. – UN Committee on the Rights of the Child

In Karnes Family Detention Center hundreds of women and children are detained and labeled as threats to national security. In Dilley, Texas, the family detention center will operate at a full capacity of 2,400 beds.

At this interfaith dinner we will hear the stories of the women and children, learn from people who have been fighting tirelessly to end their unjust and immoral detention, and learn about what we can do to stop it.

Individual tickets are $15
A table of 8 can be sponsored for $120
