“Bodies and the Bible: The Legacy of Racism and Colonialism in Western Christian Perspectives on Israel and Palestine” is a lecture on the role of religion and racism in the Israel/Palestine conflict. The speaker is Dr. Janneke Stegeman, a scholar in Old Testament from Amsterdam. She works as a theologian at De Nieuwe Liefde (The New Love), a center for debate and encounters on religion, poetry and society in Amsterdam. In 2014 she finished her dissertation on the role of conflict in the book of Jeremiah, including its interpretations in present day Israel and Palestine. Stegeman was selected as the Dutch Theologian of the Year for 2016/2017.
