Have Americans given up on democracy? With mass protests over social injustices and racial inequality, people wonder if public policies only benefit those in power. Dolgon will talk about how the post-Vietnam War era, political reality TV, and debates over Black Lives Matter have influenced the political culture in our society today. Join us for this free event at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the UTSA Downtown Campus in the Aula Canaria Lecture Hall to learn more from Professor of Sociology Dr. Corey Dolgon as he engages the audience with a talk about his new book “Kill It to Save It: An Autopsy of Capitalism’s Triumph Over Democracy.” Dr. Dolgon is the inaugural director of the Office of Community-Based Learning at Stonehill College in Eaton, Massachusetts.
