A Good Death – Issues and Ethics

February 2, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$35

“A good death,” most of us would probably agree, is something we would wish for ourselves and our loved ones. Led by Richard Ferguson, M.D.

2 Tuesdays
, February 2 and 9, 7 – 9 PM, $35/2 sessions

Dr. Richard Ferguson will help us understand the practical, ethical and spiritual issues about death. “For those who have not yet died,” as he puts it, he will discuss ways death has been viewed throughout history, ethical principles relating to death—including the rights and obligations of patients, doctors, and family members, and examples illustrating issues arising before, during, and after death.

About the instructor: Dr. Richard Ferguson, M.D., is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care, has been an adjunct professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Medical Director of the Christus Santa Rosa Hospice, Director of the Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship at the San Antonio VA Medical Center, founder of four free medical clinics, and a frequent lecturer on end-of-life topics.
