Panel Discussion: Black History Education and Civil Rights in the Millennial Age @PaloAlto
This panel discussion will focus on the importance of Black history education and civil rights and their relevance in our modern lives. Hear from panelists Dr. Kevin Cokley (professor of African and African Diaspora Studies at University of Texas at Austin); Dr. Mike Flores (president of Palo Alto College); and Oliver Hill (president of NAACP San Antonio Chapter). You are welcome to share spontaneous prayers or bring a poem or a prayer from your own faith tradition. The peaceCENTER has hosted two prayer vigils in front of the Cathedral and the participants have asked that it be a regularly scheduled event. The 39th annual San Antonio CineFestival, the nation’s longest running Latino film festival and San Antonio’s original indie film festival, will take place February 24 – March 4, 2017 at the historic Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe Street, San Antonio, TX 78207.
