San Antonio Vigil for Health Care
The U.S. House has a major Health Care vote planned for this Thursday. Gather on Wednesday night at sunset for a vigil in Milam Park on the Houston Street side across from The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. Bring candles and people and your signs. And guitars, flutes, etc. The lives of people you know and love are at stake. Let's show up and send Washington a message: every American has a right to health care.

The peaceCENTER has hosted several prayer vigils in front of the Cathedral and the participants have asked that it be a regularly scheduled event. Dolores Huerta is an American labor and civil rights leader who co-founded what is now the United Farm Workers. As a pioneer in the Latino Civil Rights movement, Huerta will talk about her involvement in the cause and the relevance of those issues in today’s society. Q&A and refreshments will follow the event.
