Aliens, Immigrants & Other Evildoers: a one-man show
Performances start at 8 pm both days In partnership with the National Performance Network, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center will host award-winning performance artist José Torres-Tama for a weeklong residency from June 15-21. The residency will include student workshops, performances, and a “live art” lecture. PRESS CONFERENCE AGAINST RACISM CONCERNING THE MURDER OF BLACK PEOPLE IN CHURCH IN S.C. THIS SATURDAY: The Press Conference will be this Saturday, June 20th at Sam Houston High School and part of the Juneteenth Parade program. Justice for the people killed in South Carolina. AT 12 noon. Prayer warriors, pastors, people of good will in all groups are invited to stand against racism.

In correspondence to the Mel Casas exhibition Getting the Big Picture, author and historian David Montejano will hold a lecture and book signing at the Museo Guadalupe on June 20 at 6pm. He will have his trilogy on hand for signing: "Anglos & Mexicans in the Making of Texas, 1836-1986," "Quixote's Soldiers: A Local History of the Chicano Movement, 1966-1981," and "Sancho's Journal: Exploring the Political Edge with the Brown Berets." Free and open to the public.
