Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na'im (from Sudan) is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Law at Emory Law, associated professor in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences, and Senior Fellow of the Center for the Study of Law and Religion of Emory University. This event will include poetry on sensitive subjects by Raise the Whisper, followed by a discussion. Raise the Whisper: Cultivating healing from the effects of family rape and sexual abuse, Raise The Whisper is an act of expression aimed to break down silent barriers and lift the unmerited burden of guilt and shame felt by survivors.
