Dance: “From Selfish to Selfless: The Saga of Purandara DAsa”
Bihl Haus Arts in collaboration with Kaveri Natya Yoga is pleased to present “From Selfish to Selfless: The Saga of Purandara DAsa,” a classical Indian dance performance conceptualized, composed and choreographed by Dr. Sreedhara Aikkhebbalu. The performance recounts the miraculous intervention of the god Vishnu in the life of Purandara DAsa (1484–1564), hailed as the father of Carnatic music in India. It is presented in the style of Bharathanatyam, among the most subtle and sophisticated dance forms in the world.…
