The Women of Ill Repute: REFUTE! return to the Historic Guadalupe Theater July 23, 2016 after 15 years! They are once again raising awareness and donations for the Rape Crisis Center. They are a generation of Women searching through the poetry of self-discovery and wisdom, power and weakness, despair and transcendence. A generation of Women who call into question fear, strength, vanity, courage and spirit. Although they travel together in this search, they make their own individual realizations and invite the audience to do the same.

15 years ago they were listed as “Angels” in their donor’s list. These women joined together to present a dialogue. The intention is an attempt to address, challenge, and even embrace perceptions of gender, culture, identity, violence, abuse, anger, happiness, and joy. It is also an attempt to search and discover the relationships a woman has with herself and with others. Friends, family, education, economics, language, desire, discipline, and hunger are threaded to form a tapestry of experience that calls on the struggles and victories of women to give insight, hope, and progressive change for generations to come.

It’s all women, all live, all poetry and best/worst of all, its all true baby !
