Water & Roots: People’s Movement Assembly

December 2, 2016 @ 6:30 pm

Free

Southwest Worker’s Union Climate Colectiva project would like to invite you to WATER & ROOTS: People’s Movement Assembly on December 2 & 3, 2016. The Water & Roots Movement Assembly will be a daylong event themed around our relationship with Water. We will have separate tracks that will create opportunities to engage with community, learn new skills, and personalize the face of climate change as it relates to San Antonio.

Southwest Worker’s Union’s Climate Colectiva project has spent the Spring and Summer connecting our community through healing workshops, talking circles, block walking outreach, skill shares, cooking demonstrations, and solidarity support with front line communities fighting for just transition, clean water, food access for all people, and the end of systematic and environmental racism. Through our events we have begun to explore new ways of examining our connection to a rapidly changing world.

The People’s Movement Assembly will begin Friday night with a welcome dinner. This will give our members and guests opportunities to meet, commune and build bridges over our shared work and goals. Saturday will offer a day of workshops and skill shares that break down climate change concerns and ideas as mentioned in the Climate Colectiva Summer sessions. The tracks are interchangeable and offer a wide array of topics from reproductive issues, to cooking, to medicine making, to social media skills.

Free. Donations Welcome.
