Various Leaders from the African American community will discuss various issues concerning the black community. Each leader is well respected in the African American community and can speak with passion and conviction about their subject matter. We will examine the past. What are some of the issues of the past that we are still experiencing? We will take an analytical look at some of the circumstances (Ferguson, Baltimore, our school textbooks, just to name a few), that are influencing our communities today and then look at solutions for a brighter future.
FORMAT: Our Keynote speaker, Roni Dean-Burren (Author and National Speaker) will open the event with her comments and then various panelist will respond. After each panelist have responded, Roni Dean-Burren, will follow up and then close out with our questions and answers session.
Roni Dean-Burren is the Pearland, TX mother who called out McGraw Hill on referring to slavery as “immigrant workers.”
