Come celebrate the 16th year of the San Antonio Empty Bowl Project and help end local homelessness.
The San Antonio Empty Bowl Project is an effort by San Antonio area potters to fight homelessness. Always the first weekend in March, this annual family-friendly event invites you to select your favorite bowls from thousands of locally crafted ceramic bowls and have them filled with gourmet soup and bread donated by local restaurants. Each $20 bowl donation goes to SAMMinistries, a program devoted to helping end homelessness in San Antonio. Take the bowl home with you to remind you that others have empty bowls. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, March 6 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southwest School of Art. Hope to see you there!
A silent auction will include works donated by some of the region’s best artists and businesses.
Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.
Gates open at 11:00am, but lines start forming much earlier, so come early, buy plenty, and leave happy.
