
The San Antonio Symphony celebrates and spotlights the accomplishments of the American Civil Rights Movement, paying tribute to its most famous leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special community concert.
Conducted by André Raphel, the San Antonio Symphony and the MLK Mass Choir, with director Jerome Roberson, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Concert program includes the inspiring poem-set- to-music, Lift Every Voice and Sing, sections of Hailstork’s Three Spirituals for Orchestra, as well as works by Coleridge-Taylor, Beethoven, Duke Ellington, and others.
