Federal Panel on Ending Veteran Homelessness

June 2, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

To discuss the end of veteran homelessness in San Antonio and Bexar County, speakers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Cloudbreak Communities (Phoenix, AZ) and the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless will gather to provide an update on federal and local efforts to end homelessness among veterans.

The City of San Antonio is one of over 225 cities nationwide who have signed on to the challenge to end veteran homelessness by 2015. The White House initiative challenges cities to ensure that every veteran has access to permanent housing, and those that become homeless or are at-risk of becoming homeless quickly achieve housing stability. The challenge is supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness and the National League of Cities.

  • Mayor Ivy R. Taylor
  • Councilman Ron Nirenberg, District 8
  • Tammye Treviño, HUD Regional Administrator
  • Stephen Shomion, VA, South Texas Veterans Health Care Systems
  • Brad Bridwell, Cloudbreak Communities, Phoenix, AZ
  • Travis Pearson, South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless
