Keith Edwards, who has become a prominent expert on the prevention of sexual violence, will speak on “Ending Rape: A Social Change Approach.” His presentation will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Laurie Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
Edwards has 15 years experience speaking on more than 70 college campuses about sexual violence prevention, men’s identity issues, and social justice education. He has written extensively on sexual violence prevention, as well as presented at more than 80 national conferences. His signature multi-media program, “Men Ending Rape” encourages men to play a significant role in ending the perpetuation of a campus rape culture.
Edwards received a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Hamline University in St. Paul, where he also served as a resident mentor. He later received a master’s in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University, followed by a doctorate from the College Student Personnel Administration program at the University of Maryland.
He now serves as the director of Campus Life at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.
