Courageous Conversations on Race Equity

The Region 8 Committee for Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities is hosting the Courageous Conversations Workshop on October 17^th from 1-5 pm.  The location of the training will be at the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, 7500 Hwy 90 W, AT&T Bldg, Suite 100.  There are only 45 seats available, please register at  http://tinyurl.com/j4es72h. 

Courageous Conversations on Race Equity:  Race and ethnicity, systemic racial inequities, and social injustices are at the core of disproportionate and disparate outcomes for far too many Texans.  This interactive workshop presents an opportunity for professionals, community members, and anyone else interested in improving our social conditions to collaborate and learn more about these issues in a nonthreatening, productive environment.  The workshop objectives are:

• Use a common language to facilitate dialogue on racial inequities and the impact on systems and communities.
• Identify and recognize the existence of systemic racial inequities within systems.
