Community Conversation: Issues Facing the LGBTQ Community

A special learning session aimed at increasing the community’s understanding of issues facing LGBTQ Texans. This session will provide the information necessary to have those important conversations about LGBTQ equality with your friends, neighbors, co-workers and others. Chuck Smith, CEO of Equality Texas will talk to us about issues we could face in the 2017 Texas legislative session; Kiran Bains, San Antonio’s Diversity & Inclusion Officer will talk about the city’s Diversity & Inclusion Office and how the city is working to be a city on the rise and a true Texas leader in the diversity and inclusion space; and Assistant Chief James Flavin, San Antonio Police Department’s LGBT Liaison discusses their 21st Century Policing and anti-bias policing.
