Join The San Antonio Are Foundation for the launch of the San Antonio metro area report of Economic Issues for Women in Texas, in partnership with the Texas Women’s Foundation and the Center for Public Policy Priorities.
Free, but pre-registration is required.
In Texas, 30 percent of all households are female-headed, yet they represent 53 percent of households living in poverty. In San Antonio, those figures are 31 percent and 57 percent respectively. In the San Antonio metro area, 72 percent of jobs pay less than $43,392 per year–which cannot sustain a single mom with one child.
Using local data and community best practices, the “Economic Issues for Women in Texas” study helps define what women and their families need to thrive in the areas of jobs, education, housing, childcare and health care, so that areas of innovation and investment can be identified.
