DESCRIPTION: \nTHIS IS A MANIFESTO\nA Performance with San Antonio Artists & Virginia Grise\nJanuary 27\, 2018 at 8 pm\nJump-Start Theater (710 FREDericksburg Rd.)\n$5 Admission at the door \nJoin us and welcome Virginia Grise as she opens Jump-Start’s 2018 season with readings and performances alongside San Antonio artists: Adela C. Arellano\, Jessica Balladares\, Bianca Flores\, Joyous Windwider Jimenez\, Ruth Mini\, Holly Sophia Nañes\, Clint Taylor\, Jo Reyes-Boitel\, and David Zamora Casas. They will share their original manifestos developed through a week-long process of exploring artistic practices rooted in the politics of imagining a better world. \nPublished work by Virginia Grise includes Your Healing is Killing Me (Plays Inverse Press)\, blu (Yale University Press)\, The Panza Monologues co-written with Irma Mayorga (University of Texas Press) and an edited volume of Zapatista communiqués titled Conversations with Don Durito (Autonomedia Press). Virginia is a recipient of the Whiting Writers’ Award\, Yale Drama Series Award\, the Princess Grace Award in Theatre Directing\, and is currently a member of Soho Rep’s Writer/Director Lab. Virginia holds an MFA in Writing for Performance from California Institute of the Arts and currently lives and writes in the Bronx. \n
