He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously by President Clinton in 1995. “The SWVREP launched over 1\,00 voter registration drives in 200 cities\, paving the way for Latinos to have a voice in government and underscoring the growing power of the Latino vote…” \n
