SUMMARY:Sikh March for Peace
DESCRIPTION:The Sikh Center of San Antonio will host a number of Sikh groups from throughout the state at its Sikh March for Peace from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Maverick Plaza in La Villita. \nBalwinder Dhillon\, president of the Sikh Center of San Antonio\, said 500 people are expected from Austin\, Dallas and Laredo. A group from Houston will travel to the event in two buses\, he said. \nState Sen. José Menendez and San Antonio City Councilman Ron Nirenberg are expected to attend\, Dhillon said. \nThe march will circle the La Villita area\, beginning at the corner of South Alamo and Villita streets. Marchers will head south on Alamo\, take a right on César Chávez Boulevard\, go north on South Presa Street and take a final right back onto Villita Street.  \nThe event is free and open to the public; Indian food will be served.
