SUMMARY:Save our History for our Future: Why Historic Preservation Matters and What's in it for You
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe lecture and panel discussion\, “Save our History for our Future: Why Historic Preservation Matters and What’s in it for You\,” is the brainchild of alumnus Larsen Andrews ’14\, who majored in art history and history and now works in San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation. It brings together several of the foremost leaders of San Antonio’s preservation community to talk about what historic preservation is and why it is good for cities and communities. Trinity students are especially invited to network with the speakers to learn about internship and job opportunities\, and how they can use skills honed in their humanities courses in this field. \nThe keynote lecture will be by architect Carolyn Peterson\, who has worked on the restoration of San Antonio’s missions for decades. A panel discussion with preservation professionals will follow.
