SUMMARY:Religious Views of America’s Founding Fathers
DESCRIPTION:Explore the complicated question of the religious perspective(s) of America’s founders.  Led by David A. Crockett\, Ph.D. \n Monday\, February 29\, 7 – 9 p.m.\, $25/ 1 session \nWere they all Deists? Partisans for a “Christian America” or something else? How can we know? The course will briefly survey different ways of thinking about this question\, with suggestions for further reading. Time permitting\, we will also explore what the Constitution says about religion. \nAbout the Instructor: David Crockett Ph.D.\, is professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at Trinity University. His primary teaching and research interests are in the field of American politics with a special focus on the American presidency. His publications include The Opposition Presidency: Leadership and the Constraints of History. \n
