SUMMARY:reCentering for Community
DESCRIPTION:Monthly\, 2nd Thursday of each month \nRock House at Oblate School of Theology [MAP]\n285 Oblate Dr.\, SATX 78216 \nFree and open to the Public\n*Peace Potluck* \nGiven the context of our mutual times\, Community is essential in holding together the center of our beings with the Being of the Center of all things. \nFor over 20 years the Core Team at the San Antonio peaceCENTER has been gathering almost every week to reCenter — to intentionally take the time nurture our centers! We have experienced the growth\, the strength\, the combined resilience\, the creativity and the action that comes out of just such reCentering. We have and are experiencing Community. We often speak together about how important this is in our lives. We have also heard others (maybe you!) of their need for Community\, while asking to experience what the peaceCENTER does in this regard. \nSo\, the peaceCENTER has decided to create a monthly reCentering for Community. At least we’re gonna try it for awhile and see who (you?) shows up! Our practice rarely looks the same each week but it always works within the dynamic between action and reflection. The best way to experience this dynamic and know this dynamic is to simply show up. Please keep in mind that San Antonio’s peaceCENTER is intentionally interfaith. \n*What’s a Peace Potluck\, you ask?* Everyone is invited to bring a simple offering of food to share. We never know what will show up but it always brings a smile to our faces and an instant feeling of peace in our tummies. \nSome quotes from folks who experience reCentering… \n “Community is the gift while we do this work. Otherwise it’s too discouraging. Welcome new people and see where the Spirit blows us. Grateful for everyone at pC.” Rosalyn Collier \n“The peaceCenter is foundational\, providing a bedrock of peace and compassion\, the spiritual element needed for the work of bettering the world we live in; affirming the good that is already here. In this sense\, all the various efforts we engage in derive strength from the compassion and peace that we celebrate\, learn about\, and practice with the peaceCenter. The pC offers a centering that is very important.” Caryn Wideman \n “Elizabeth McAllister\, ‘Seek harbors that lead you to deeper questions.’ What better description of the peaceCENTER?” Jan Olsen \n
