DESCRIPTION:March 1\, Wednesday\, 7 pm Panel discussion (Preceded by the film Pray the Devil Back to Hell at 6 pm) University of the Incarnate Word Library Special Collections Room. \nPope Francis in his message for the World Day of Peace gave examples such as the Muslim Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. “Women in particular are often leaders of nonviolence\, as for example\, was Leymah Gbowee and the thousands of Liberian women\,” Pope Francis states. She gathered Muslim and Christian women who organized “nonviolent protest that resulted in high level peace talks to end the second civil war in Liberia.”  \nCome join local women in a discussion of peacebuilding.  Muslims:  Dr. Fatma Arslan\, Sarwat Husain\, Narjis Pierre\, Sumeyra Tek. Christians: Rev. Rachel Epp Miller\, Mennonite; Rev. Ann Helmke\, Lutheran; Sr. Martha Ann Kirk\, Roman Catholic.  \nFor those who would like to come at 6 pm\, the award-winning film about the Nobel Laureate Laymah Gbowee\, Pray the Devil Back to Hell will be shown.
