DESCRIPTION: \n“While many may know the details\, AWAKE\, A Dream from Standing Rock captures the story of Native-led defiance that forever changed the fight for clean water\, our environment and the future of our planet.” \nLight refreshments will be available. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.\, a short film will proceed ‘AWAKE’ at 7 p.m. \nA brief Q&A will follow the conclusion of the film. The Peace and Dignity Journey local organizing committee will also give an update on the Spirit run many of you supported. \nDonations to the Peace and Dignity Journey organization are welcome to help support the runners’ final leg of the intercontinental run. \nThe content in Awake does show violence and use adult words\, viewer discretion is advised. \n“Will you join us. Will you join Our Dream?” \nThe 12th Native American Film Screening is a part of the Indigenous Arts program of American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions and is brought to you thanks to the support of the Marguerite Casey Foundation\, The San Antonio Area Foundation\, the Texas Commission on the Arts\, The City of San Antonio’s Department of Art and Culture\, Texas Humanities and community members like you.
